Sparetime Walking: steps into rewards
A fitness app that counts every step and turns it into coins. Coins are earned through daily goals and challenges and spent in an in-app marketplace, so walking a little more each day has a visible payoff. Published on Google Play.

01The idea
Every step is more than a count. It is a coin that could be earned.
At its core the app is an accurate step counter that records each step and gives real-time feedback, so progress through the day is always visible.
What sets it apart is the reward system. Challenges turn steps into coins, and coins open up rewards, from personal goal achievements to things that can be redeemed. Goals can be personalised, so it works for regular walkers and for people who are only starting to add steps to their routine.
02What it does
Four things the app is built on
- 01
Counts every step
Tracks and counts the user's footsteps as they move about through the day.
- 02
Rides count too
Tracks the distance travelled on a bicycle and converts it into spare coins.
- 03
Challenges
In-app challenges, such as a 10,000-step day or a city tour, give new reasons to keep going.
- 04
A marketplace
Spare coins can be redeemed at recognised supermarkets in Sri Lanka through the in-app marketplace.
