Cafetura: a white-label restaurant app

One app that any restaurant can make its own. Customers order for delivery, pickup or in advance and reserve tables; each restaurant sets its brand colours and food categories. Designed during an internship as a UI/UX engineer.

Cafetura, a white-label restaurant app: the Order Now screen on a phone beside a burger

01The brief

Restaurants need an ordering app that looks like theirs, without each one building it from scratch.

Cafetura is a white-label restaurant application built for the changing needs of the restaurant industry. Customers use it to order food for delivery, pickup or pre-order, and to reserve tables.

I designed it as a UI/UX engineer intern at Ceyleon Solutions in Sri Lanka. It was my first product designed for real restaurants and real customers, and where I learned to apply design decisions under real constraints.

Key features

  1. 01

    Customisable for each restaurant

Owners personalise the app with their brand colours and their own food categories, so each restaurant gets a branded experience from the same product.

  2. 02

    Flexible ordering

Customers choose between delivery, pickup and pre-ordering, which covers different preferences and schedules.

  3. 03

    Table reservations

A table at a favourite restaurant can be reserved in a few taps.

03The approach

Designed around the customer

  1. 01

    Simplified navigation

The home screen puts the two primary actions, Order Now and Reserve Table, up front. That keeps confusion and decision fatigue low.

  2. 02

    Consistent and familiar

Universally recognised icons and buttons mean people can use the app without instructions.

  3. 03

    Responsive feedback

Every action gets immediate feedback, which makes the app feel interactive and trustworthy.
